Irish dancing combines various rhythms of traditional Irish music with the grace and energy of dance. Irish dancing consists of two different styles, hard shoe and soft shoe, each of which are accompanied by their own unique time signature and required techniques. Timing, body position and footwork are the key fundamentals in mastering this art form. Irish dancing can be performed as both solo and in groups for social, competitive and performance purposes.
The Plummer Donaghy Academy of Irish Dance aspires to provide a motivational atmosphere for students of all ages. We aim to share our passion and love for Irish dancing, while building confidence, social and team skills. Classes are tailored to fit the needs of each student, both recreationally or competitively, from a beginner all the way to the championship level.
